The "ST701" was a compact and lightweight TTL (Through-The-Lens) aperture-priority metering single-lens reflex camera that incorporated a highly sensitive silicon photodiode for its exposure meter, a bright and easy-to-view viewfinder, and other original new technologies in a compact body. It pioneered the trend towards smaller SLR cameras by other companies.
The "ST701," in addition to its excellent lenses, was also popular for its compact body, and its sales progressed smoothly, increasing the trust in the FUJICA brand in both domestic and international markets.
